No matter how many times today’s travelers may visit the area they always long to return. These modern-day, repeat, savvy visitors know Ocho Rios and its garden parish of St. Ann as a fair land indeed.Waterfalls and rivers flow. Grassy hills roll gently down to white sandy coves. Turquoise-blue waters lap at a craggy coastline.

Noted as Jamaica’s fun playground and attraction capital, Ocho Rios lies midway along the island’s north coast, almost halfway between Montego Bay and Port Antonio. Visitors can complete the drive in less than 1 1/2 hours with the upgraded highway.

Much activity whirls around the downtown Ocho Rios area, wrapping around Mallards Bay, a half-moon shaped harbor.

The main catalyst for the region’s growth was the bauxite industry, which along with the deep-water pier west of town began to shape the area as a tourism hot-spot. Stunning natural beauty coupled with an unmatched array of activities, places to stay, shop and dine, continue to insure the growth of the St. Ann area and Ocho Rios.
